Twool Multilux 0,034 W/mK

Twool Multilux is a premium range of thermal and sound insulation strips made of glass wool, designed for insulating top floor ceilings, pitched roofs, wooden frame structures and ceilings – especially in passive houses. The thermal conductivity coefficient λ = 0.034 W/mK and the fire reaction class A1 apply to the entire range. The products are certified according to EN 13162. The width of all variants is 1,200 mm.
Compared to the Basic range, thanks to λ = 0.034 W/mK, Multilux offers significantly higher thermal resistance – up to 15% – at the same thickness and, in addition to thermal insulation, also provides sound insulation. The high elasticity and compactness of the material guarantee easy handling and perfect filling of the space.
The range includes two-layer sets (50/100, 80/160) for cross-laying with elimination of thermal bridges and single-layer variants (150, 200 mm) for single-layer application. The thermal resistance of RD ranges from 4.41 m²K/W (50+100 mm) to 5.88 m²K/W (200 mm). Suitable for new buildings and reconstructions, especially where increased demands are placed on energy efficiency.

Twool Multilux is a premium range of thermal and acoustic insulation strips made of glass wool from Thermowool, designed for the most demanding applications – pitched roofs, timber frame structures, top floor ceilings and passive houses. Compared to the Basic range, it offers higher thermal performance, extended areas of application and acoustic insulation.
Common features of the entire range
All products in the Twool Multilux range share a premium thermal conductivity coefficient of λ = 0.034 W/mK – significantly better than the λ = 0.039 W/mK of the Basic range. Reaction to fire class A1 (highest possible non-flammability according to EN 13501-1), certification according to EN 13162 and a standard width of 1,200 mm apply to the entire range.
Multilux vs Basic – why λ = 0.034 W/mK is decisive
The difference λ = 0.034 vs 0.039 W/mK is directly reflected in the thermal performance: at the same thickness, Multilux achieves a thermal resistance that is approximately 15% higher than Basic. To achieve the same RD, Basic would have to be thicker – which is not always possible in structures with limited height. Multilux thus allows passive house parameters to be achieved with a smaller structural thickness.
Thermal and sound insulation
In addition to the thermal insulation function, Twool Multilux also performs a sound insulation function – a particularly valuable feature for pitched roofs and wooden frame structures, where sound can pass through structural elements. The high elasticity and compactness of the material guarantee perfect space filling and easy sealing around structural elements.
Double-layer kits – elimination of thermal bridges
The 50/100 and 80/160 variants are double-layer kits consisting of two rolls. The lower layer is placed between the supporting beams or rafters, the upper layer is placed perpendicular to the first one – thus covering the wooden structural elements and consistently eliminating thermal bridges. The combination of λ = 0.034 W/mK and double-layer installation brings a combined thermal resistance of up to RD = 7.06 m²K/W (80/160).
Single-layer variants for passive houses
The 150 and 200 mm variants are separate rolls for single-layer application. With RD values ​​of 4.41 and 5.88 m²K/W, they meet the requirements of passive houses in one layer of material.
Choosing the right variant
For low-energy houses, a RD ≥ 4.5 m²K/W is recommended, for passive houses ≥ 5.5 m²K/W. All Multilux variants reach or exceed these values.
