Twool Basic 0,039 W/mK

Twool Basic is a range of lightweight, non-load-bearing glass wool thermal insulation strips designed for the insulation of the top floor ceiling, suspended ceilings and wooden ceilings. The thermal conductivity coefficient λ = 0.039 W/mK and the fire reaction class A1 apply to the entire range. The products are certified according to EN 13162. The width of all variants is 1,200 mm.
The range offers single-layer and double-layer variants. The double-layer sets (50/100, 60/120, 80/160) contain two rolls for cross-laying, eliminating thermal bridges at the joists - the lower layer goes between the joists, the upper layer perpendicular to them. The single-layer variants (100 to 200 mm) are separate rolls for single-layer application or as part of a custom double-layer system.
The thermal resistance of RD ranges from 1.28 m²K/W (50 mm) to 5.13 m²K/W (200 mm), in two-layer combinations from 3.84 m²K/W (50+100 mm) to 6.15 m²K/W (80+160 mm). The flexible and lightweight material adapts well to uneven surfaces. Suitable for new buildings and renovations.

Twool Basic – a complete range of thermal insulation for ceilings of every thickness and every project
Twool Basic is a comprehensive range of glass wool thermal insulation strips from Thermowool, designed for the insulation of top-floor ceilings, suspended ceilings and wooden ceilings. The range covers a wide range of thicknesses and thermal resistances – from basic single-layer insulation to high-performance double-layer systems for passive houses.
Common features of the entire range
All products in the Twool Basic range share the same basic parameters: thermal conductivity coefficient λ = 0.039 W/mK, reaction to fire class A1 (highest possible non-flammability according to EN 13501-1), certification according to EN 13162 and a standard width of 1,200 mm optimised for common construction spacings.
Two-layer kits – elimination of thermal bridges
The variants marked with a slash (50/100, 60/120, 80/160) are two-layer kits consisting of two rolls of different thicknesses. The bottom layer (smaller number) is placed between the supporting beams or rafters, the top layer (larger number) is placed perpendicular to the first – thus covering the wooden structural elements and consistently eliminating thermal bridges. The resulting combined thermal protection is significantly higher than with a single-layer installation of the same total thickness with non-crossed joints.
Single-layer variants – flexibility of use
The variants from 100 to 200 mm are separate rolls designed for single-layer application or as part of your own two-layer system. Suitable where the construction height corresponds to the insulation thickness, or where the customer combines different thicknesses according to their own project.
Choosing the right variant
The thermal resistance of the RD is a decisive parameter when choosing the thickness. Higher RD means better thermal protection and lower heating costs. To meet the requirements of the current standards for new buildings, RD ≥ 5.0 m²K/W is recommended, for passive houses ≥ 6.0 m²K/W.
Installation
The material is light and flexible - it is easy to shape, cut and adapt to the space between the beams and to shape irregularities. Suitable for new buildings and reconstructions of attic spaces.
